Audio controls
These consist of two sliders that control the mike and playback
volume,a button to toggle output between the built in speaker
and the headphone jack, buttons to mute/unmute either the mike
or speaker, and buttons to control acquistion of the audio hardware.
- Output device
- Mute
- To mute, click with the left button on the icon.
Repeat the process to unmute.
- Device selection
- To change the audio output line between speaker,
headphone, lineout, etc, click on the speaker icon.
It will change to a headphone icon.
Additional clicks will round-robin among the available lines.
If there is only one option, the button will be disabled.
- Volume adjustment
- Use the slider to adjust the volume.
Either click at the desired position or click and drag the slider.
Just to the left of the slider is a VU meter.
A rule of thumb is to adjust the volume to get the peak
readings on the meter to about 80% of full scale.
- Microphone
- Mute
- To mute, click with the left button on the icon.

- Keep and release buttons
- These are used to control the hardware when there is
more than one vat session in progress at one time.
