dmidecode and biosdecode are just recent binary versions of the 
Dmidecode package Version 2.8 maintained by Jean Delvare, downloadable
via http://www.nongnu.org/dmidecode/ , because many vendors have not
yet fixed their packages wrt the following patch:

The bineries will probably disappear as soon as most vendors have fixed
their dmidecode packages.
